Casa de la Cultura KY (CCKY) and Latino Art BLEND are pleased to announce the 2025 art competition titled “Historias Latinas en Lexington.” as part of the 250 anniversary of Lexington. This event aims to celebrate the culture, diverse histories, and significant contributions of Latin American communities in Lexington through art.
We invite Latin American artists of all skill levels, regardless of age or discipline, to showcase their talents by submitting original works that reflect their heritage and lived experiences. Participants are encouraged to explore a variety of themes related to Latin American culture, identity, and history in Lexington.
Submitted works can be in multiple artistic mediums, including, but not limited to, painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, music, and written forms such as poetry and short stories. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to express their unique perspectives and share their stories with the community.
We look forward to seeing how each artist interprets the competition theme and celebrates Lexington’s vibrant Latin American heritage. Join us on this artistic journey and contribute to a collective narrative that honors our diverse backgrounds and shared experiences.
Winning entries will be honored and showcased at the Viva México 2025 celebration and the Lyric Theatre’s Hispanic Heritage Month showcase. This competition is open to Lexington residents with roots in Latin American countries.
